What Ngenla is
Ngenla contains somatrogon, a long-acting recombinant human growth hormone. It is given as a once-weekly injection for the treatment of children and adolescents with growth disturbance due to growth hormone deficiency.
Suitability and dosing are decided by a prescriber on the basis of the approved product information.
Growth hormone, once a week
Somatrogon is recombinant human growth hormone joined to short peptide sequences taken from human chorionic gonadotropin. These extend its half-life, which allows one injection a week instead of daily injections.
In the pivotal phase 3 trial in children with growth hormone deficiency, weekly somatrogon was non-inferior to daily somatropin for height velocity at 12 months.1

Common questions
Do I need a prescription?
Ngenla is a prescription-only medicine. After your request, the partner pharmacy verifies whether and how supply is possible, for example through an existing prescription or an assessment by an independent doctor where permitted.
Who is it for?
Children and adolescents with growth disturbance due to insufficient growth hormone, as set out in the product information. Treatment is started by a specialist.
How is it different from daily growth hormone?
The growth hormone effect is the same; the longer half-life allows one injection a week instead of one a day.
Do I pay when I send a request?
No. Payment is arranged individually with customer service once your request has been reviewed and can proceed.
