What Cialis is
Cialis contains tadalafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor with a longer duration of action than sildenafil. It is used for erectile dysfunction and, in some strengths, for the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Suitability and dosing are decided by a prescriber on the basis of the approved product information.
PDE5 inhibition, longer acting
Like sildenafil, tadalafil blocks PDE5 and strengthens the natural response to sexual stimulation. Its half-life of about 17.5 hours means that a single dose can remain effective for up to 36 hours.
In some strengths it is also authorized for the urinary symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.1
Side effects and warnings
Commonly reported side effects include:
- Headache, indigestion and flushing
- Back pain and muscle aches
- Nasal congestion

Common questions
Do I need a prescription?
Cialis is a prescription-only medicine. After your request, the partner pharmacy verifies whether and how supply is possible, for example through an existing prescription or an assessment by an independent doctor where permitted.
How is it different from Viagra?
Both are PDE5 inhibitors. Tadalafil acts for longer, up to 36 hours, and can also be taken daily at a lower dose.
Does it work without sexual stimulation?
No. It strengthens the natural response to sexual stimulation and does not cause an erection by itself.
Do I pay when I send a request?
No. Payment is arranged individually with customer service once your request has been reviewed and can proceed.
